I was feeling down and really bad about everything, so I decided I wanted to train for my first fitness competition. I have two sons and when I was feeling really bad about myself, I knew I wanted a change. In just 5 months I transformed my body and won 1st in my bikini class, all thanks to Candice.


My self-confidence since training with Candice, and becoming fitter and stronger, has increased so much. I would have never gone to the gym, But Candice got me to get out of my comfort zone and now the gym is my escape, a place of peace. I feel like I have the confidence to accomplish anything I put my mind to. whether it is going to the gym, getting through my workouts on my own or pushing myself further. I love that when I train with Candice we have a connection on another level, not just a trainer and a client, but a friendship. Candice has gone out of her way to show me proper movement, giving me the motivation and confidence to keep pushing myself. She has also taught me a lot about mindset and keeping a positive attitude, and for that, I am extremely grateful.

Five years ago I broke my foot due to low bone density issues and my doctor’s top suggestion was weight-bearing exercise. I wasn’t happy. I have had trainers in the past, enthusiastic bouncy balls of energy who unintentionally yet inevitably led me directly to repetitive injury. They weren’t educated or interested enough to see me as an individual with specific health needs. But I decided to give it one more try. I went to a gym and was matched up with Candice as my trainer.
Candice has been a Godsend!! She has been by my side for four and half years now and I am in the best shape I’ve been in for decades. (I turn 60 this year). At my last annual exam, my doctor told me my physical age was 45!
Candice has an intimate depth of knowledge of the human body, and an uncanny intuitiveness to go along with it. Even in a Skype training session, she can tell what muscle I’m using and correct my technique if it’s the wrong one. She is a genuine holistic mentor. She cares, not only about my physical fitness but also about my diet and mental health as well. She is easygoing as well as positive and encouraging.

When I first started working with Candice I had one goal: get “skinny” again. Through the process, she patiently helped me realize that without healing my relationship with food and the illusion of healthy as being a certain size, I would continue to run after an unsustainable long-term result. Her knowledge and experience of how the body works is invaluable. Combined with her compassionate, nonjudgmental way of coaching, I’ve been able to slowly see that beauty isn’t about my physical appearance but about how I see myself mentally. This is why I now see my strength, my endurance, and resiliency as healthy. I trusted the process and have gained a new understanding of what weight loss really is. I see the definition of my growing muscles as a success instead of what number is on the scale. Most importantly, I measure how I’m feeling as more important than how I’m looking. It’s just a bonus that my pant size is getting smaller too.

I cannot say enough about what Candice has done for me as a client and bikini competitor. I signed on to work with her through my prep for my first show with the hope to be able to be somewhat competitive when I took the stage. In the several weeks leading up to my show, Candice programmed both my nutrition and training programs. Her meal plan was easy to follow and focused on keeping me well fed so that I could continue to perform in the gym. Her training program was specifically targeted to the muscle groups that I needed to focus on. In both facets she was incredibly responsive as a coach - I had frequent check-ins from which she would adjust my calories and macros. As I have a previous back injury, she was careful about selecting movements that would not aggregate this issue and was always cognizant of making sure I could train lower body days pain free.

In addition to her nutrition and training programs, she also coached my posing for my show. She took the time to develop a detailed understanding of the requirements for my federation and choreograph a routine that would highlight my physique. She then gave consistent feedback through voiceovers and labelling my videos, sending photos with detailed corrections, and live posing sessions via FaceTime.

With Candice’s guidance, I was able to earn my pro card in two categories and place second in both pro events at my first competition. I am beyond happy with the results of this prep and extremely excited to continue to challenge myself and see where I can go with her direction.

Above everything already mentioned, what I appreciate most about working with Candice is that she truly cares about her athlete’s success and health. She focuses on making sure that everything is done safely so that I keep feeling good. She answers all my questions, no matter how repetitive so that I can understand why I am doing what I’m doing. In addition to being an amazing coach, she is also a wonderful cheerleader as she continually encourages me to keep pushing and enjoy the process along the way.
